Engineering – the video shows ways engineering is being used to protect communities from the effects of volcanic hazards, provide transport infrastructure, and how the heat of the volcano is being used to generate electricity.

Mathematics – the video shows how data is being collected on ancient volcanic activity and how it is used to measure the volume of past lava flows.  We show how simple measures in the field and in lava tubes can be used to understand volcanic events.
