G’day, Howdy and Hi,

My name is Gary Lewis and I am an enthusiastic and passionate geoscientist.  I grew up and studied in Australia and then moved to the USA in 2003.   I have worked as a school teacher, in scientific organizations, in geological surveys and geological societies.   But most of all, I just LOVE to share the wonders of our planet with educators, students, rock hounds, and the general public.

Join a field trip.  Read our Earth science snippets.  Use our teaching resources.

Come join us and have fun!

More for Educators

GEOetc is a  place to find resources to help you make Earth science exciting for you and your students.   GEOetc (Geoscience Education and Outreach et cetera) is an independent source that links the very best Earth science ideas and concepts and provides classroom-ready ideas and resources that are tried and tested by people who have actually taught in the classroom.  Whether you follow the Next Generation Science Standards, your state standards or you are using a more local system and whether you are imbedded in system or homeschool, we have something for you.

We will add ideas and concepts in these blog pages, as well as providing lessons via our eNews newsletter. It’s free to sign on to eNews and we promise not to spam you with useless offers and unrelated materials – just Earth Science for Earth Science Teachers.  Complete the form on the right-hand side.

GEOetc

Each year we will run exciting field trips for teachers that will increase their knowledge of Earth science as well as provide them with experiences that they can take straight back into their classrooms.  We also run special field experiences for homeschool parents and their students.

The GEOetc team can help you receive professional development for your teaching certification through training either in your school or online.

Together, we can make a real difference to the Earth science experience for your students by giving you the information, activities, and confidence (with a blast of enthusiasm for good measure).

Don’t just take our word for it….look what teachers who have been involved with us say:

“To learn, one needs a passionate, intelligent & knowledgeable teacher that will instill the love of learning about their subject. Gary Lewis achieves this with the added bonus of bringing his speciality alive in the field, ensuring that your learning is alive and fun! This from another teacher who admires and applauds great teachers.”  Pam McLaughlin
